A culinary journey with Mayan roots, unique in time.

During March of 2024, 18 chefs known around the world will travel around Yucatan. They will immerse themselves in the Mayan cosmology in an experience full of culture, gastronomical knowledge, and flavors, to then get inspired and create unique dishes that will be served during an unforgettable 9 course dinner at the Hacienda Ake in Merida, at a beautiful open kitchen in a
close coexistence with diners.
Hokol Vuh is committed to promote, with each of its editions, development, and the
sustainable well-being of the communities in the region. We believe in gastronomy as a path to regeneration of agriculture and community.

The project has benefited 11,454 people, with 6,045 direct beneficiaries, of which 2,032 are producers who are currently implementing innovations in the Yucatecan cornfield system.

In times of crisis, due to weather events in the Yucatan Peninsula, corn was purchased to donate to the communities and favor the reactivation of their economy.

Young people were encouraged to actively participate in the cornfield process, and the inclusion and active participation of women was imposed for the conservation of their practices and species.

More than 130 producers were linked to the market and by using the surplus production, each one has been able to generate a greater income.

The adoption of sustainable practices was achieved in more than 9900 of the region’s acres.

The purchase of 40.7 tons of corn was supported.

Palapas were rebuilt for two towns.

Equipment was bought to boost growth of the Xbox community and make tourist tours of the cornfield possible.
Our vision is to create a school in synergy with the Haciendas del Mundo Maya Foundation, which expands the opportunities for young people from the communities, a breeding ground for future chefs, who have the opportunity to do internships in restaurants of our Hokol Vuh ambassadors around the world.
